Dsungaripterus in History

The first Chinese pterosaur "Dsungaripterus" was discovered in 1964. The fossils found of it consisted of the front parts from skull, jaw and most of the parts the body and wing skeleton. They were recovered in excellent condition. This pterosaur had an estimated maximum skull length of 50cm and a wingspan of more than 3 m. The toothless jaw ends indicates that this species subsisted on a diet of lobsters, crabs and other crustaceans. Our model requires the use of strong metal geared servos (with 1 kg ) of torque). A high rate gyro is also required to achieve adequate yaw control.
