Eudimorphodon in History
Eudimorphodon is the oldest known pterosaur. It's head looks a little like
Rhamphorhynchus, but the anatomy of the
teeth is completely different. In the upper jaw are eight large catch
teeth. Behind these are multiple rows of small jagged teeth which are
interrupted by four large tear teeth. The lower jaw has four large catch
teeth in front. Behind these are multiple rows of small jagged teeth as in
the upper jaw. With an estimated jaw length of about 60mm, the
Eudimorphodon has an estimated 114 teeth in total. This indicates that
this pterosaur was a fish catcher.
Documented fossils from Cena in Italy appear to back up this theory from
fossilized fishbone prints in the stomach area of Eudimorphodon fossils.
Our model requires two metal geared micro servos for the R/C installation
when only elevons are used. Add one more if moveable tail is desired for
rudder control. The performance of this little model is surprisingly good.
